Gunmen attacked the Adamawa State Police Headquarters in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, in the early hours of Wednesday, sending residents of Yola into panic.

The attack was repelled by security forces, but the identities of those behind it remain unknown.

A source has alleged that the attackers were military personnel on a revenge mission, following the alleged killing of a military officer by the police.

The police have said that they are investigating the attack and will provide more information as soon as it is available.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

The police have released a statement saying that the attack was carried out by a group of 10 to 15 gunmen. The gunmen opened fire on the police headquarters at around 2:00 AM on Wednesday morning.

The statement said that the police returned fire and that the gunmen fled the scene. No casualties were reported in the attack.

The police are urging anyone with information about the attack to come forward.

The military has denied any involvement in the attack on the police headquarters.

A military spokesman said that the military has no reason to attack the police and that the allegations are “false and unfounded.”

The spokesman said that the military is working with the police to investigate the attack and to bring those responsible to justice.
