The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) attributed the ninth national grid collapse to instability caused by tripped lines and generators.
According to TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the incident occurred at 1:52 p.m. on November 6, disrupting power supply nationwide. Data from the Independent System Operator showed all connected power plants ceased electricity production by 2 p.m.
TCN engineers swiftly responded, restoring bulk power supply to Abuja by 2:49 p.m. and progressively reconnecting other regions.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate patience as we work to fully restore power,” Mbah stated.
