The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, attended the African Chiefs Of Defence Conference In Botswana.
General Christopher has strengthened Nigeria’s security relationships with the United States during a bilateral meeting with General Charles Brown JR, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the African Chiefs of Defence Conference, co-hosted by USAFRICOM and the Botswana Defence Force.
According to Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director Defence Information, the meeting was fruitful and engaging and explored opportunities for mutual benefits. He said, General Musa was a lead panelist at the conference on “ Peacekeeping , Counter-terrorism, and Crises Response Operations,” emphasizing the importance of technology integration and best practices.
The discussion was also aimed to foster unity among African Defence Chiefs and to enhance operational readiness through best practices and integration using technology to combat insecurity on the continent.

The conference, themed “Together on the Rampart: Expanding Cooperation and Sharing Values,” was officially opened by Botswana’s President, Dr. Mokgwetsi Eric Keanetswe Masisi, with 42 countries in attendance. General Musa contributed to discussions on peacekeeping,
Highlights of the events includes the panels on security sector Governance and Civil-Military Relations among others.
