FirstBank has denied reports of an ongoing system upgrade, explaining that a recent notice was intended for vendors, not customers. In a statement released on Friday, the bank attributed the misunderstanding to a misinterpreted message sent to vendors.
According to the bank, the message concerned transitioning from the current I-Supplier Platform to a new cloud-based Supplier Platform. This upgrade aims to enhance vendor capabilities and benefits.
“The message, incorrectly interpreted and reported, was exclusively sent to and intended for our vendors,” the statement read. “It focused on transitioning from our automated I-Supplier Platform to a world-class, cloud-based Supplier Platform, enabling additional capabilities and benefits for our vendors.”

The bank reassured customers that:
- No system upgrade is currently underway.
- All customer applications are fully operational.
- Banking systems, customer transactions, and channels will not be affected by the enhanced supplier platform.
FirstBank reaffirmed its commitment to seamless service delivery.
