Minister of State for Youth Development Olawande Ayodele has assured that the Federal Government is committed to promoting national unity and youth development in Nigeria.

This promise was made during a visit from the Nigeria Youths Union (NYU) delegation to his Abuja office.

The NYU delegation, led by President Chinonso Obasi, emphasized the need for restructuring the Nigerian youth framework and promoting national cohesion among young people, who are severely impacted by economic struggles, insecurity, unemployment, and infrastructure deficiencies.

In response, Ayodele praised the NYU’s advocacy efforts in critical areas such as:

  • Primary Healthcare: Improving access to quality healthcare for all Nigerians
  • Local Government Autonomy: Empowering local governments to address community-specific issues
  • Youth Inclusion in Governance: Increasing youth representation in decision-making positions
  • Anti-Corruption Efforts: Combating corruption to ensure accountability and transparency
  • Addressing Illegal Mining: Tackling environmental degradation and economic losses due to illegal mining.

Ayodele reaffirmed the ministry’s willingness to collaborate with the NYU to address these concerns, acknowledging the organization’s vital role in advocating for a better Nigeria ¹. With this partnership, the Federal Government demonstrates its commitment to empowering Nigerian youth and fostering national solidarity.
