The Federal Government, through the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), has launched its Subnational Tour initiative, aimed at strengthening Ease of Doing Business reforms at the state level. This initiative seeks to foster collaborations between government bodies, the private sector, and international partners.

Key Objectives

  1. Improve Business Climate: Enhance Nigeria’s business environment to attract investments and promote economic growth.
  2. Foster Trust and Transparency: Strengthen relationships between businesses and regulators.
  3. Ease of Doing Business: Simplify processes for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and large companies.

Tour Details

  • Dates: November 12-14
  • Location: Katsina State (North-West region)
  • Participating states: Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara
  • Activities: Town hall sessions, technical workshops, private sector engagement meetings, and MSME exhibitions

Expected Outcomes

  1. Direct Communication Channels: Facilitate interactions between state governments, regulators, and entrepreneurs.
  2. Actionable Insights: Provide guidance on streamlining business operations.
  3. Improved Service Delivery: Address bureaucratic obstacles and enhance transparency.

PEBEC, established in 2016, has implemented over 190 reforms to tackle bureaucratic inefficiencies and improve Nigeria’s business climate.
