A statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the Minister of State, Ibrahim Aliyu indicates that the ministry acknowledged a report
by Jam’iyyatu Ansariddeen Attijaniyya of Nigeria which revealed that 16 of its members were shot dead allegedly by the Burkinabe soldiers on patrol.
They were reportedly on their way to the home country of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse in Senegal.
The statement says, the envoy was called to explain in detail what really happened and called for urgent response from the Government of Burkina Faso.
