Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s Spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, has strongly Refuted Allegations made by the so-called “Bayelsa APC Elders Council” suggesting that the Ex-President was Involved in Nominating or attempting to Nominate the Bayelsa State Ministerial Appointee to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement released yesterday, Eze emphasized that the Former President would have Ordinarily disregarded such Claims due to the lack of Credibility of the Authors and their Obscure Organization, the Bayelsa APC Elders Council, which is not Recognized within the Structure of the Ruling Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eze stated, “However, we have continued to receive calls from Friends and Well-Wishers who are concerned that some Innocent Nigerians might be Misled by the Duplicitous Fabrication, hence this Rebuttal.”
He further explained that the Publication was False, malicious, preposterous, and Unnecessary.
The Authors failed to Provide any clarification on the Alleged Consultations or reveal the name of the supposed Beneficiary of the Nomination.
Eze suggested that a few low-profile Politicians may have Misinterpreted Jonathan’s recent Visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja as Political lobbying.
However, he clarified that the visit was to brief President Bola Tinubu, who had been Elected as the Chairman of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Governments, on Recent Developments in the Sub-Region.
Jonathan currently Serves as the ECOWAS Mediator in Mali and Chairman of the ECOWAS Council of the Wise.
The Spokesperson expressed his Disappointment at the attempt to tarnish Jonathan’s Reputation, Stating that such Baseless Allegations have been tried before by Individuals who Unsuccessfully hurled Insults at the Former President during his time in Office. Despite these attacks, Jonathan’s Image has continued to Soar both Locally and Internationally.
In conclusion, Eze Urged Nigerians to Ignore the Misinformation spread by Mischief-makers and Emphasized the Importance of Promoting peace and the Healthy growth of the Nation by Disregarding such False Claims.
