Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, considers his educational investments as his greatest legacy. Specifically, he’s proud of establishing Northwest University (now Maitama Sule University) and Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil (now Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology) ¹.
Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party, shared these thoughts during the inauguration of an ultramodern auditorium named after him by Skyline University in Kano. This event was part of his 68th birthday celebration. He emphasized that his educational projects outweigh other accomplishments, such as flyovers, roads, agricultural development, and rural electrification.

Kwankwaso commended Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf for adhering to the Kwankasiyya ideology, which prioritizes education and human development. Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to the university for planning to train 1,000 teachers in computer skills in collaboration with the state government and pledged continued collaboration.
Kwankwaso has consistently highlighted education as a vital investment for politicians, believing it’s the key to Nigeria’s strength, particularly in Kano and Northern Nigeria ². His foundation has sponsored over 3,000 indigent students in 14 countries and numerous Nigerian universities since 2015.
