Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the dissolution of executive boards, agencies, and parastatals in the state’s public service, effective immediately. This decision was announced by Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the governor.

Key Actions Taken:

  • Dissolution of Boards and Parastatals: All executives of boards, agencies, and parastatals have been dissolved.
  • Relief of Appointees: Permanent secretaries from outside the state public/civil service and all political appointees have been relieved of their appointments.
  • Handover of Government Properties: Affected appointees must hand over government properties to the most senior public officer in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.

Governor Okpebholo’s directive is part of a broader effort to restructure and revamp the state’s administration. This move follows similar actions taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who dissolved the governing boards of all federal government parastatals, agencies, and institutions.
