The management of Dangote Refinery is set to meet with officials from the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) to discuss direct petrol supply arrangements. This development follows the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria’s (IPMAN) announcement of a direct petrol purchase agreement with Dangote Refinery, bypassing intermediaries.
According to PETROAN Publicity Secretary Joseph Obele, Dangote Refinery has sent an email to PETROAN President Dr. Billy Harry, proposing a business meeting. Dr. Harry will lead a seven-member team to represent PETROAN.
Obele emphasized that PETROAN’s primary objective is to ensure affordable, high-quality products for consumers while adhering to regulatory standards and industry best practices. He expressed optimism that the meeting will be mutually beneficial.
PETROAN commended Dangote Refinery’s management for establishing a direct sales agreement with IPMAN, removing intermediaries. PETROAN noted indicators suggesting potential decreases in PMS prices due to discussions with key stakeholders and reduced landing costs.
