The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi, has announced the active Collaboration between the Service and Technology experts, as well as Cybersecurity Specialists.

This Collaboration aims to Implement advanced Security protocols that will effectively prevent any attempts to Compromise the E-auction platform upon its resumption.

Adeniyi expressed Confidence in these measures, highlighting their potential to significantly enhance the System’s resilience and render it Impervious to future Cyber-attacks.

He addressed Journalists, explaining the delay in the Functionality of the Customs E-auction portal and underscoring the Importance of fortifying the System against potential Security breaches.

The E-auction system, Initially designed to Improve transparency and efficiency in disposing of seized Goods, has faced challenges in the past due to Unauthorized access by malicious entities.

The Customs boss emphasized the necessity of strengthening the platform’s Security features in response to hacking incidents, prioritizing the creation of a robust defense against Cyber threats.

Adeniyi acknowledged past experiences where Unauthorized Individuals compromised the system, emphasizing the need for a strong and resilient Platform.

He assured the public that efforts are underway to address these concerns and strengthen the E-auction Platform.

The Customs Boss reiterated the Service’s commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of the platform without compromising its Integrity, emphasizing the delay as a necessary step to fortify the System and protect it from potential Threats.

Recognizing the inconvenience caused by the delay to those anticipating the resumption of E-auctions, Adeniyi assured the public that this temporary setback is essential for creating a more secure and reliable platform.

He said the NCS’s dedication to fostering a transparent and accountable system that upholds the highest standards of Integrity.
