The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states AIG Gyogon Augustine Grimah, on Wednesday, appealed to the Kebbi Command, Police Commissioner, CP Bello M Sani to maintain deeper inter-agency synergy with relevant agencies in the state for proper policing.
Grima made the appeal in Birnin Kebbi when he was hosted during a familiarisation visit to Kebbi State by the command.

The Police boss, who also held an interactive session with stakeholders on community policing during the visit urged members of the National Union of Roads Transport Workers, National Association of Road Transport Owners, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nigeria Labour Congress, Christian Association of Nigeria and the Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association of Nigeria to improve their relationship with the Police by giving them proper information that will assist the Police and other security agencies in their unending quest to wipe out crime and other forms of criminalities in the state and across the country.
While noting that “the Police alone can not do it,” Grima stressed, “we need you people to help in information gathering and to be our Police as we Police you for the security of all Nigerians.”
The AIG maintained that civilians are required to believe in their deepest hearts that the Police are indeed their friends in practical terms in order to attain success in the fight against crimes.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the host, CP Sani enumerated his achievements since he assumed office as the Kebbi State Police Commissioner to include – the degrading of armed bandits, sustained onslaught on lakurawa and kidnappers, which he said the Police and other sister agencies during the numerous operations have killed Kidnappers, armed robbers and also dealt huge blow on the emerging lakurawa terror group by killing their kingpin among many other successes.
The CP equally mentioned the numerous attacks against the Police and the civil populace which were repelled by security forces in the state.
We welcome you to Kebbi State. We wish to inform you all that all we have achieved are results of collaboration with other security agencies and the support we are enjoying from Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris in terms of logistics and encouragement to stem crimes in the state.”
The interactive session was attended by heads of agencies that included the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service vigilante, PCRC members, and other critical stakeholders.
