The Nigerian Senate has commenced the screening of seven newly nominated ministers. The nominees include:
- Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda: Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
- Muhammadu Dingyadi: Minister of Labour and Employment
- Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu: Minister of State, Foreign Affairs
- Dr. Jumoke Oduwole: Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development
- Idi Muktar Maiha: Minister of Livestock Development
- Rt. Hon. Yusuf Ata: Minister of State, Housing
- Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad: Minister of State, Education
The Senate suspended its rules on Wednesday at 12:57 pm to allow the Special Adviser to the President on Senate matters, Basheer Lado, to bring the nominees into the plenary, following a motion by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele ¹. Senate President GodsWill Akpabio had read President Bola Tinubu’s letter nominating the new ministers on Thursday.

This development comes after President Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle, which included dismissing five ministers:
- Uju-Ken Ohanenye: Former Minister of Women Affairs
- Lola Ade-John: Former Minister of Tourism
- Prof. Tahir Mamman: Former Minister of Education
- Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo: Former Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development
- Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim: Former Minister of Youth Development
