The awards ceremony, broadcast on Thursday night, saw Tyla claim double wins, including the Top Afrobeats Song title for her global hit “Water.”

Tyla, born in Johannesburg, was nominated in eight categories at this year’s BBMAs. Her nominations included Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, Top R&B Album for “Truth or Dare,” and Top R&B Song for “Water.” She also secured nods for Top Afrobeats Song with tracks like “Truth or Dare” and “Jump,” a collaboration with Gunna and Skillibeng.
With her double wins, Tyla has cemented her position as a rising star in the Afrobeats genre.
