“You said repeatedly that President Bola Tinubu didn’t make a mistake by picking me as SGF; continue to pray for him, continue to pray for our country Nigeria.
“Some of the policies by this administration are already yielding positive results.

“Every move was carefully calculated to achieve maximum result, better days are coming .
“I always tell our people whenever the occasion arises, that we must continue to have renewed hope.
“Nations are great because the citizenry have hope that tomorrow will be better than today.”

“Unbehalf of the Senate, I want to congratulate you, you are a square peg in a square hole; we are celebrating your excellence and humility.
“We know that you are going to leave your mark in the present administration of Bola Tinubu, we pray that God will guide you and it will be well with you, because when it is well with you, it will be well with Nigeria. “
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, described Akume as a kind man who would translate that into moving the nation forward.
“I find in Akume something I rarely find in politicians, which is kindness and he will bring it to play on the job.
“I want to assure you of our support at the House of Representatives and we will ensure that all policies of the government and bills will scale through in the house .”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Party Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, said the president made the right choice of the SGF and that he would succeed.

“An honour done to Akume is an honour done to Nigeria, I know George Akume very intimately, and I know by God’s will he will succeed as SGF.
“He is the 20th in line, I hope that you write your name in gold that is what we wish you and pray you do well, we will support you,”he said
