Tamunosiki Onatoyinbo a health Science teacher at the Government Secondary School Apo, saw the need to create an awareness on the importance of human safety.
The exercise which took place on Tuesday at the school premises. The students carried flyers and stickers with various inscriptions such as, Be Safety Conscious at home , School and Workplace. Don’t be a Slave to Hard Drugs, amongst others.

Also, the students proceeded to Apo Road Safety Command Abuja. The students were addressed by Samuel Amah a Unit Liason Officer, they also received a professional training on plate numbers with different color coat and also driving offences that are over fifty three in different types of offense sheets by Jas D. Okuobeya Chief Route Commander of the Apo Road Safety unit.
Jas Okuobeya taught the students the different types of color coat and how a private vehicle is not suppose to take the load of a commercial vehicle. She also taught the students how driving offences is been handled in Nigeria by Road Safety. Samuel Amah further show the students the production of different color coat of plate numbers.

Furthermore, the students visited NDLEA at FCT Command Gudu. Mr Nduka Augustine, an officer addressed the students on the effect of abusing drugs. He also added that it’s not longer called drug Abuse, “it is now known to be substance abuse, substances and beverages are now abused by people most especially the youth and it has become a global issue.
Also, Tamunosiki moved with the students to Vanguard Detox. A rehabilitation center at Galadimawa Abuja, with the logo, vanguard Against Drug Abuse (VGADA) Hope Omeiza the CEO of Vanguard Detox addressed the student on how to be physically and phycological safe from drugs as youths, ” The rehab center is a place were we keep and nuture people who are drug addicts and the want to move out of it. Most of them we picked up from the street and others are brought by their parents or relatives.” Samson Ogwuche a clinical psychologist exposed the students to the different types of substances and their local names. he went further to explain to the students what withdrawal syndrome means and how to manage it.

The students by name Sara Haliru and Nwafor asked questions on the areas they didn’t understand Ogwuche addressed the questions and clarify them and he also warned the students to be conscious of anything they eat or drink.
