Babalakin Urges Schools To Admit Students According To Available Facilities

During the 2023 Annual Reunion and Public Lecture of the Government College, Ibadan Old Boys Association (GCIOBA) in Akure, Ondo State, the National President, Olawale Babalakin, SAN, emphasized the Importance of aligning the number of Students Admitted with the available learning Facilities in schools at all levels.

Babalakin expressed concerns about the diminished status of Nigerian schools, highlighting the detrimental effects of the excessive Admission of Students without sufficient consideration for Educational resources.

Meanwhile, the Ondo State chapter, headed by Wale Akinterinwa as Chairman and Adeolu Akinwumi as Secretary, organized the event.

The gathering featured a lecture titled “Educating for Leadership: The Perspective of a GCI Old Boy” delivered by Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu.

Dr. Dipeolu encouraged Attendees, particularly secondary school Students present, to strive for Excellence in their chosen Fields.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, represented by Dr. Olawumi Olawale, his Special Adviser on Education, commended the GCIOBA for upholding the School’s standards in various aspects.

Additionally, Adeolu Akinwumi, the National Social Secretary in September 1991, revealed that the GCIOBA is currently actively supporting their alma mater.
