Former deputy speaker and governor of Imo State, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha has bowed out of Imo gubernatorial race barley 24 hours after chairman of his party, PDP, Iyochia Ayu, was shoved aside from office.
He confirmed his withdrawal in a statement which a copy was seen by kukuruku News

Ihedioha said he was pulling out of the race based on an agreement to produce a consensus candidate.
But not a few people in the party believe that he is a leading contender given the controversial manner the Supreme Court relieved him of his mandate while already a governor about four years ago.
Insiders revealed that his withdrawal may not be unconnected with a change of guard at the party hierarchy.
