The Controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University (CSU) certificate continues, with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar accusing President Tinubu of attempting to distort the Deposition made by CSU to confuse the Public.
In a statement released by his Media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku Criticized President Tinubu for allegedly falsifying a Document submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and for swearing an Affidavit to support this Forgery.
Atiku referenced specific parts of the CSU deposition, which Indicated that CSU could not find an Authentic copy of the Diploma Issued to Tinubu in 1979, casting doubts on the Authenticity of his Academic qualifications.
Atiku questioned how a Candidate could Graduate from a university for which they were never Qualified.
He also highlighted Discrepancies in President Tinubu’s application, including the use of a Certificate from Government College Lagos, which didn’t exist until 1974, for admission to CSU in 1970.
Atiku further pointed out Issues with the NYSC Certificate bearing a different middle name and questioned its Authenticity.
Meanwhile, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, defended President Tinubu, stating that President Tinubu could not be found guilty of Forgery unless the purported maker of the Document denied its authenticity or Forensic evidence proved deliberate alteration.
Keyamo argued that since CSU stated that Vendors Issued replacement Certificates, the burden of proof rested on the accuser to prove the Vendor’s Involvement in Forgery.
Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, alleged that President Tinubu’s Administration aimed to gag the Media ahead of the release of FBI Investigations related to President Tinubu.
He criticized the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) for its perceived bias and Interference in Media operations.
Shaibu emphasized the Media’s role as the watchdog of Society and called for responsible Journalism.
