Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that the Party is open to welcoming the G-5, led by former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, into its Fold.
Adamu made this Statement during an Interview with Arise Television on Tuesday.
The APC Chairman emphasized that the G-5 would be Warmly received whenever they decide to join the Ruling Party.
Meanwhile, Adamu has dismissed Rumors of Discord between himself and President Bola Tinubu.
Adamu claimed that he deserves a Commendation for leading the Party towards successful Presidential Primaries and the subsequent Victory of Tinubu.
He clarified that he was Misrepresented regarding his Position on the recently Elected Principal Officers of the National Assembly.
Adamu added that the APC had concerns about the way the Communication was handled by the Lawmakers.
Adamu pointed out that those who had Grievances against him always had the opportunity to express their views during National Meetings.
He mentioned Saliu Lukman as an example, Stating that Lukman, who has accused him of running a one-man show, has attended those Meetings.
The APC chairman stated that Lukman’s Decision to take the Party to Court was a serious Offense, even though Lukman later Signed an Agreement stating that his Case had been Withdrawn and apologized for his Misconduct.
Adamu said, “I think that’s a soft selling point for you Media People.
It is true that at the time I made a Presentation to the National Working Committee (NWC), the name of Senator Ahmed Lawan was mentioned.
That was before the Convention. Many things happened between then and the actual date of the Convention, and you saw the Unanimous outcome of the Convention.
I was there and I led the Party’s Convention.
A day after the Convention, I took the entire Working Committee to Tinubu’s house in Asokoro and assured him of our Support, stating that we would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him and ensure that the Mandate was Effectively Communicated to the people of Nigeria.
We won the Election.
Instead of receiving Praise, we are being Vilified.”
He emphasized that it was not the time for Vilification and believed that since he led the Party to Success, he should be Commended.
Adamu acknowledged that he had the right to hold an Opinion, as he did regarding Lawan before the Primaries.
However, once it became clear that Tinubu Emerged as the Candidate, every Member had to rally around him.
He mentioned that he Currently maintains a good working relationship with Tinubu since his Election and that the President has always given him his full attention during their Meetings.
Adamu stated that he would be willing to Disagree with the President on any Matter because Freedom of Speech exists in the Country.
He clarified that any Reported altercation between him and the President is a creation of the Media.
The National APC Chairman stressed that Reports about himself and the President not being on the same page are Speculative, Urging the Media to treat him Fairly.
