The Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on President Bola Tinubu to dismiss Government appointees who failed to Participate in the Public hearing on the 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) at the National Assembly.

Some Ministers and agency heads did not respond to Committee Invitations for Public hearings.

The MTEF/FSP sets parameters for the 2024 budget, including a Crude oil price of $73.96, Exchange rate at N700/$, Oil production at 1.78 million barrels per day, debt service of N8.25 trillion, Inflation at 21%, and GDP growth at 3.76%.

The estimated Expenditure for the 2024 Budget is N26.01 trillion.

The Public hearing aimed to scrutinize the fiscal document and enhance the National revenue base, involving Chief executives of Government-owned agencies.

The approved MTEF/FSP will guide the preparation of next year’s Budget.
