
Osi Braimah, the Director of the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), emphasized the Necessity of the ongoing Demolition of Shanty stores in the Market during a conversation with Journalists.
The objective of the removal of Shanties and Illegal settlements in various parts of the City, particularly in Area 11, is to address the Persistent Insecurity challenges experienced by Residents.
Braimah revealed that this Intensified Demolition Initiative is part of a comprehensive effort by multiple Agencies within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He further noted that the AEPB received a clear directive from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to expedite the removal of all Shanties, Illegal settlements, and Squatter camps in the FCT.
“We have been engaged in this process for an extended period, but the current Scaling up will not only enhance City Sanitation but also effectively address the associated Issue of Insecurity,” he said
