Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has Unveiled an enhanced Monthly Allowance scheme for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Members serving in the State.
During the closing Ceremony of the 2023 Batch B Stream One Orientation course at the NYSC Orientation Camp Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area, Governor Alia disclosed that a Monthly Stipend of N15,000 will be provided to all Corps Members, regardless of their Primary assignment locations.
Furthermore, Medical Doctors among the Corps Members will receive a special monthly allowance of N100,000.
Governor Alia’s Announcement is expected to uplift the Spirits of the Corps Members and provide them with Increased Financial Support during their Service period.
He emphasized the Significance of their Contributions to National Unity and encouraged them to seize Opportunities for Personal Growth, Positively Impacting their Host Communities and the Nation at large.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Alia stated, “Your role as agents of change is crucial to our collective Vision of a better Nation.

You possess Unique Talents that can foster Growth and Development, not only within our State but for our Country as a Whole.” He urged the Corps Members to exhibit Values such as Integrity, Innovation, and Compassion as they Navigate their Service responsibilities.
The Governor’s Initiative received a Commendation from Mr. Abe Ashumate, the Benue State Coordinator of the NYSC, who highlighted Governor Alia’s Commitment to the Welfare of Corps Members.
Ashumate acknowledged the Provision of essential Supplies, including Food, which underscored the Governor’s dedication to their Well-being.
The recent adjustment in the Monthly Allowance Scheme marks a substantial increase from the previous N10,000 Stipend Provided to all Categories of Corps Members by previous Administrations in the State.
The new Measures reflect Governor Alia’s aspiration to Support and Empower the Youth, recognizing their Potential to drive Positive change and Contribute to the growth of the State and the Nation.
As the Corps Members embark on their Service Journeys, Governor Alia’s Initiative Serves as a Testament to the Importance of Valuing and Investing in the Future Leaders of Nigeria.
Through these enhanced Allowances, the Governor aims to Foster a sense of Responsibility, dedication, and enthusiasm among the Youth, thereby furthering the cause of Nation-building.
