After his successful comeback to the mainstream music scene last year with the EP ‘6th Wave’, which produced hit singles like ‘Like’ featuring Kizz Daniel and Davido, as well as ‘One Side’, Iyanya is back to building on that momentum.
His latest project is a single titled ‘Sinner’, a collaboration with BNXN (formerly known as Buju). The mid-tempo and sensual track captures the desire sparked by a tempting woman.
During the song, BNXN, who hails from the Ibibio tribe, briefly sings in his native language, while Iyanya alternates between Yoruba and pidgin English to create a familiar melody.
Iyanya has been in the news lately for his whirlwind romance with a concertgoer he met while performing at Davido’s Timeless Concert in Lagos. Although ‘Sinner’ may not be directly inspired by his newfound love interest, the attention garnered by the relationship has added to the buzz surrounding the release of the song. Iyanya is undoubtedly hoping to channel this publicity toward the promotion of his latest record
