The House of Representatives confirmed Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the substantive Chief of Army Staff on Thursday. This confirmation followed his screening by the Joint Committees on Defence and Army on Wednesday.
The Committee Chairman, Babajimi Benson, submitted the report during plenary and urged the House to confirm Oluyede. The Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, presided over the session where the confirmation was granted.
