Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on the people of Kogi State to show strong Support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Usman Ododo, in the upcoming Governorship Election.
He underlined that doing so would help Propel the State to higher levels of Infrastructure Development and Human capital growth.
Shettima made this appeal during the Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Flag-off held at the Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja.
He stressed the importance of aligning with the central Government and Voting for the APC candidate in the November 11, 2023, Governorship Election to ensure Continuity and Consolidation.
The Vice President added, “For the people of Kogi to benefit Immensely from the eight-point agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the Natural Resources that abound in the State, it is essential for them to Vote for a younger and more Patriotic person who knows much about the State.”
Shettima highlighted that President Tinubu has Approved Funds for Critical Road Projects in the State, such as the Ganaja road, as well as Improvements to major Highways to Facilitate the movement of People and Goods.
He also emphasized the significance of the Ajaokuta Steel Company (ASC) to the people of Kogi, noting that a Son of Kogi, Shuaibu Abubakar-Audu, had been Appointed as the Minister of Steel Development by the President.
In his welcome address, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, expressed Gratitude to Tinubu for his Support, which has contributed to the State’s progress.
The APC’s National Chairman, Umar Ganduje, presented the Party’s Flag to the Gubernatorial Candidate, Usman Ododo. Ododo Pledged to Consolidate and build upon the achievements of Governor Bello for the Development of Kogi State.
“I accept the Mandate to be the Governor of Kogi for the greatness and Development of our dear State,” Ododo affirmed.
