Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, the Popular Skit Maker and Actress known as Kie Kie, has expressed her belief that it’s a mistake for Married Women to rely solely on their Spouses to cover all the Financial Expenses of running their Households.
During her appearance on the latest episode of the TokeMoments podcast, hosted by actress Toke Makinwa, Kie Kie revealed that she Shares Financial responsibilities with her husband, Mr. Tunji Ilori, who is a Millionaire.
While Kie Kie acknowledged that it’s Perfectly fine for Married Women to enjoy Expensive Dates and Vacations Courtesy of their Husbands, she firmly asserted that they should also Contribute Financially to the Household’s Expenses.
She emphasized that when Women are Financially Independent and Contribute to the Household, it reduces the risk of being left with nothing in the Event of a Divorce.
Kie Kie expressed her perspective, saying, “For me personally, I advise Women: how can you live in a House and not contribute to the rent? To me, it doesn’t make sense. I Live in this House, and we both share the Rent.
It’s good to have your Spouse treat you to Luxurious experiences like flying you to Dubai or Barcelona on your Birthday or buying you Designer bags like Fendi and Christian Dior. That’s wonderful.”
However, she continued, “But the idea that I would live in a House and not contribute to the Rent, that’s not possible.
So, if we ever get Divorced, you take a chair, and I take a television. You take the roof, and I take the floor. We’ll divide everything equally.
You can’t tell me to get out of my own House.”
