A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo North senatorial district, Engr Saliu Ahmed, has expressed absolute confidence that the party would capture the eight available seats in Edo North Senatorial District at the state House of Assembly election bids for March 11, 2023.
He made the disclosure during his chat with journalists in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
According to him, the excellent performance put up by the party during the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections, were the party won the sole senatorial seat and the three house of representatives seats in the National Assembly elections has shown that the APC is still on ground and in firm control of the votes in the Edo North Senatorial District.
Engr Ahmed was one of those who delivered his polling unit in Auchi.
He also worked round the clock, along with other leaders in the district to checkmate the inroad of the Labour Party as well as the overarching influence of the ruling PDP.
He commended the duo of Edo state former governor, comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the minister of state Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba and other APC leaders in the district for being the structures of winning in the district.
With the first round of the election done and dusted, Engr Ahmed said attention has now been shifted to the state assembly election, adding that the party’s leaders will not leave anything to chance to ensure a clean sweep of the available seats.
He added that winning a whopping eight state assembly seats will place the APC in the state in an advantageous position to have the majority members in the house .
Recall that the APC won two of the three senatorial seats in contention during the last national assembly election in the state.
